If the voice chat settings on the client are showing correctly, you may be encountering a hardware related problem. In order to solve this error we encountered, we can reach the solution of the problem by performing the suggestions below.

How To Fix League of Legends Voice Chat Problem?

In order to solve this error we encountered, we will try to solve it by telling you a few suggestions.

1-) Check Client Voice Chat Setting

Based on the settings in the game's client, we can solve the voice chat problem.

  • Open the League of Legends client.
  • Select the "Voice Chat" section by pressing the gear icon at the top of the client. The "Automatically join audio channel" option is checked by default. If you uncheck this, you will have to join the voice chat again each time you join a group.

Input Setting

Input mode is set to audio activity by default. Voice activity uses a voice activation threshold. The higher this number, the louder you need to speak for those in the chat to hear you. The purpose of this is to reduce background noise; but if you are a quiet person you should keep this percentage a bit lower.

Push-to-talk allows you to speak in the voice chat channel by holding down a key. If you're using this, make sure you have easy access to the key you've selected (Mouse buttons are currently unavailable for push-to-talk.)

Audio Input Device

With these settings, you can adjust the microphone you use. The default system device will be matched with your recording settings. Make sure you are using the correct microphone as some systems may have built-in microphones. From here you can only set your microphone. So if you can't hear your friends, you need to change the default system device.

2-) Use Hextech Repair Tool

We can get rid of such various errors by using the Hextexh repair tool developed by Riot Games. But we do not know if this process provides a definitive solution. After all, if they developed such an application, why shouldn't it work for us?

  • Download the Hextech repair tool. Click to download.
  • Right-click the Hextech application you downloaded and run it as administrator.
  • After this process, wait for the installation process to complete.
  • After the Hextech application is installed and opened, select the settings as in the picture below and press the Start button.

For Windows users;

  • Right click on the sound icon in the lower right part of the taskbar.
  • Select the "Recording" tab and check if your primary microphone is selected as "Default Device".
  • Watch if the recording indicator moves as you speak. If it doesn't move, check for a mute button on the microphone (or earpiece) and make sure it's not muted.
  • Select your preferred default device and click the "Properties" button.
  • Click the "Advanced" tab and make sure "Allow applications to take priority control of this device" is unchecked.
  • Set the sampling to 16 bit, 44100Hz.
  • Go back to the sound panel and switch to the "Playback" section (or right-click the speaker icon again and click Playback).
  • Check if your preferred speaker or headset is "Default Device".
  • Right click the default device and click the "Test" button. Make sure you can hear the sound coming from your speaker or headphones.

For MAC users;

  • Click on the application and select the "System Preferences" section.
  • Click on the "Audio" section.
  • Click the "Output" tab and check that the headphones or speakers you want to use are selected and not muted.
  • Click the "Input" tab and check that your preferred microphone is selected and not muted.
  • Observe if the entry-level bar responds when you speak. If it's not responding, check for a mute button on the microphone (or headset) and make sure it's not muted.
  • If the speech indicator still does not move, you should contact your headphone/microphone manufacturer.
